Profile

Professor He graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in China with a BSc and MSc degree in thermal power engineering.

He then pursued his doctoral research in the Nuclear Engineering Research Group at the University of Manchester where he received his PhD in 1992.

Following six years post-doctoral research in Manchester, he joined British Energy’s reactor thermal hydraulics team, where he served as an analyst for over three years.

He returned to academic life in 2002 as a lecturer and later a reader at Robert Gordon University, and moved to the University of Aberdeen in 2005 as a senior lecturer and then a reader in 2008. He joined the University of Sheffield as a chair in thermofluids in March 2011.

Shuisheng is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers

Research interests

Shuisheng conducts research in the field of fluid mechanics and heat transfer combining computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with experimental studies. His current research focuses on nuclear reactor thermal hydraulics and fundamental study in turbulence, transition and drag reduction.
