Residential and Transport Decarbonisation

We're looking at how homes in South Yorkshire can be retrofitted to reduce energy use and improve health and wellbeing, as well as understanding how and why people need to move around in order to reduce transport emissions.

Achieving net-zero requires decarbonisation of homes and transport.

We're working to develop plans to increse retrofitting of homes in South Yorkshire. This is not only good for the environment, but also improves health and wellbeing and reduces cold home mortality,

It is also important to understand who and why people need to move around South Yorkshire in order to ensure infrastructure can be designed to aid emissions reductions.

Initial projects are

  • Development of a regional retrofit optimisation platform
  • Development of an analysis and decision tool to support the planning of transport routes, to serve evolving demand, while decarbonising assets and operations
  • Produce a roadmap for the decarbonisation of housing in the South Yorkshire
