Quantum physics and quantum technologies

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to study matter and energy at the most fundamental level? Discover what makes the quantum mechanical world so different from our classical experience. In this mini lecture with Professor Pieter Kok, you will explore some of the strange aspects of quantum mechanics and how they can be harnessed in creating new technologies, including quantum computing, communication, and precision sensing.

To finish the session, there will be a chance for you to find out more about being a physics student at the University of Sheffield, as you take part in a Q&A. You will have the chance to talk to some of our current undergraduate students, a member of our admissions team, and a careers expert, who will all be on hand to answer any queries you might have about studying physics at university.
