Spending a year abroad

Spending time abroad during your degree is a great way to get an even bigger range of perspectives on chemistry, and experience life in another part of the world. You'll even pay reduced fees for the year you're abroad.

If you want to study abroad, you can apply to spend time in destinations including Australia, Canada, Europe, India, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA after you've joined the University.

Your place at another university isn't guaranteed, but we have a dedicated Course Director who will provide tailored support to ensure you have all the help you need to secure one.

Attending an international summer school

Our Global Scholars Scheme allows students to apply to spend between one and eight weeks at one of our overseas partner institutions' summer schools. A range of destinations are on offer each year, including Europe, Asia and North America.

If you're successful you'll normally take part in the programme during the summer after your first year.
