Visit
The city of Palos Verdes, CA, lies on the shore of the Pacific Ocean southeast of Los Angeles. We did not have much time to spend here - only a couple of hours - but the scenery was fabulous and we hit it at a great time - the end of the day.

Description |
Nestled on the hillside overlooking the ocean we saw this large, stately mansion. |
Just down the street from the mansion within a gated community stood a lighthouse. From the vantage point of a nearby parking area we confirmed that it remains operational. |
The parking area stands atop a cliff overlooking the shore. In the distance Santa Catalina Island provides a grand presence. |
Just below us the waves broke and sprayed spectacularly over rocks jutting out of the water. |
What is more amazingly beautiful than a sunset? Several people had arrived at the parking area by this time, apparently to enjoy this gorgeous display. Here we present a series of four photos as the sun went progressively lower. (NOTE: This is a series of four pictures which will load in sequence, then return you to this page.
